We all have to find our way, here and elsewhere. Having a chip on your shoulder never helps--but I think being clear about our goals, our strengths, and our weaknesses does help. I am a newbie here and so, I don't have a feel yet for the culture on Medium, but I do here a fair amount of "things are not like they used to be." I am not sure what to do with that--
