What a refreshing write! I so enjoyed your story! Five years is a fair amount of time. I would like to retire in five years, have been nominated for a pushcart, and have 2 chapbooks out there. I currently teach voice and write poetry. My poems are being picked up by better journals now and I am getting better at the craft, thanks to a group of poets who consistently help everyone in the group. I would also really like to do a residency somewhere. In terms of financial goals, I would like to finish paying off the house and be debt free. We are getting closer.
